Sanctioned Tournaments

Club hosted tournaments are only covered by Volleyball Canada insurance if the tournament is sanctioned. A tournament is considered sanctioned when an application is submitted online, the $50.00 sanctioning fee is paid, and your tournament is reviewed and confirmed by VM Staff.  

All sanctioned tournaments will be considered for Provincial rankings except for tournaments happening the week before the respective age class Provincial Championships. 

Sanctioned Tournaments: 

• Can have a round robin with only two sets but best two out of three game structure is encouraged. All playoff matches must be best two out of three. 

• Can include multiple age classes, but a single age class is encouraged. 

• Encouraged to avoid ties for final placement where possible (i.e. completing all playoff games). 

• All sanctioned 13U tournaments must be Tripleball. 

• An application form needs to be completed for each tournament. All tournament sanctioning will be done through Activity Messenger for the 2027 season.

• Results need to be submitted to Volleyball Manitoba by end-of-day Tuesday, following the tournament weekend. Otherwise, a fee of $50 will be invoiced to your club for failing to meet the deadline.  

Tournament Timelines: 

Clubs can begin to accept “expressions of interest” on September 1st, but are not allowed to require payment in order to secure a spot.

Clubs can begin to confirm tournament registrations and accept payments on December 15th
