Super-Spike returns this July 21st & 22nd celebrating its 20th anniversary

Monday, April 3rd, 2023

Winnipeg – Super-Spike, presented by Michelob Ultra, returns to Winnipeg this July 21st & 22nd for its much-anticipated 20th Anniversary edition.  Super-Spike, which takes place at Maple Grove Rugby Park, combines Western Canada’s largest outdoor volleyball tournament with a weekend long concert series, all set in a festival atmosphere. This year Super-Spike is thrilled to welcome Canadian icon Shawn Desman as its main stage event headliner.  Canadian rising star and pop songstress Noelle whose smash hit ‘Daydreaming’ has been steadily rising to the top of the Canadian charts will be opening up for Desman. Numerous Manitoba acts including Jeremie and the Delicious Hounds, the Dust Rhinos, Daniel Desorcy, The Black Out City Kids, Always Dale, and numerous local DJ’s will also be performing.

Public interested in registering a team for this year’s event can do so by visiting superspike.ca. Early bird team registration fees are only $54 per person through to June 9th.  All Super-Spike tournament participants receive free access for the concert series and on-site festivities.

Early bird weekend passes for non-tournament participants are also on sale now and can be purchased for only $29 at superspike.ca.  After June 9th they will go up to the regular price of $39.

Super-Spike is ecstatic to have Shawn Desman headline and perform for the first time ever at this year’s festival.  One of Canada’s biggest success stories, this chart-topping, multi-platinum selling, award winning artist has created some of the most recognized songs of the past two decades. With fans across the world, undeniable talent, and music that just sticks, Shawn Desman is now taking it to the next level with his latest release “Maniac.”

Joining Desman on stage will be over ten different acts including Canadian rising star Noelle who will be opening for him on Saturday July 22nd.  Already being called Canada’s ‘next big thing’, the 21-year-old pop songstress is making a name for herself the old fashioned way… raw-talent!  With her smash hit ‘Daydreaming’ featuring Virginia to Vegas topping the charts across Canada, it is no wonder she was I Heart Radio’s rising star to watch this past December.

Super-Spike, which will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this July, acts as a significant fundraiser with over $1.3 million raised to date for local not-for-profits.  The majority of funds raised from this year’s event will continue to support Volleyball Manitoba and their grass roots programs.
