Club Volleyball Regulation Reminders

With the return to school last week, and after completion of our Early Signing Period earlier this week, we would like to remind all Club programs of our regulations that pertain to this current time of year.

First off, a list of teams and registered athletes from the Early Signing process can be found HERE. This information is posted to help provide unsigned athletes with some direction during the Tryout Window in December, letting them know which Clubs/Teams have which roster positions filled already

Regardless of your teams Early Signing status as well as the COVID-19 and return to school volleyball situation, it is important to note that it is still currently School Volleyball Season. We understand that some school teams are training already while others aren’t, and many athletes and coaches just want to get back in to the gym, however Club teams are not allowed to be training right now, whether they have registered through the early signing window or not.

If some Clubs do choose to operate unsanctioned camps during this period these camps must remain neither ‘Mandatory nor Exclusive’. School Volleyball should be an athlete’s priority during the School Season, and Clubs should avoid conflict with School Programs, encourage athletes to prioritize their School Season and only use open Club Camps as supplemental training where appropriate.

Now that the Early Signing Window is closed general recruiting rules come into effect throughout the School Season for non-committed athletes. Unless otherwise notified, the Club Tryout Window is scheduled to begin on Saturday, December 6 for 16U and younger teams and Sunday, December 7 for 17U & 18U.

Everyone is asked to educate themselves and comply with the Volleyball Manitoba Club Volleyball Seasons of Play, Scouting and Recruiting Regulations, which can be found HERE.

We are asking all clubs to understand and respect the regulations and we expect adherence as we move forward. Violations to these Regulations will be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the document.

If the school season ends up being affected considerably this fall due to COVID-19 restrictions, changes to club activity may be considered. But unless that happens, we will continue to operate under the current Regulations.
