Become a Referee – Indoor & Beach
Volleyball referees in Canada are governed by policies set forth by Volleyball Canada (VC) through the National Referee Committee which in turn works in close co-operation with Regional Officials’ Chairpersons (ROCs) in each Region of the Association.
Interested in becoming a Referee? The Manitoba Volleyball Officials Association (MVOA) is always looking for new referees to officiate throughout the school, club and senior league seasons. Refereeing is a great way to stay involved in the game and earn extra income at the same time!

Referee Certification – Indoor
There are five levels of indoor volleyball officiating:
- Level 1 – Local
- Level 2 – Provincial
- Level 3 – Regional
- Level 4 – National
- Level 5 – International
Levels 1 – 3 are administered by Volleyball Manitoba and the MVOA. Upcoming referee clinics will be posted on our website as they are available, you can view upcoming clinics here. If you are interested in hosting a clinic, please contact Volleyball Manitoba.
The MVOA recommends candidates for Level 2 and higher based on ongoing practical assessment. Levels 4 & 5 are administered by the Volleyball Canada Referees Committee.
