2024 Manitoba Summer Games Powered by Manitoba Hydro

August 11-17, 2024

Volleyball Manitoba is proud to work with Sport Manitoba and the Dauphin host society to be a part of the 2024 Manitoba Summer Games August 11-17, 2024.  The volleyball competition will be in phase 1 of the games and take place from August 11-14. Athletes may participate in more than one sport at the games if the sports are in different phases.  A list of age categories and sport phases can be found here.

Staged every two years and alternating between summer and winter sporting events, the Manitoba Games powered by Manitoba Hydro is the largest ongoing multi-sport event in the province. Every two years, the Games are awarded to a Host Community that comes together to put on this multi-sport event.  The Games create important legacies in new and enhanced sport facilities, volunteerism and leadership development that build capacity and support for amateur sport across the province.

Regional representation is a fundamental component of the Manitoba Summer Games competition.. Athletes must compete for the team that is based in their region. The 2024 Manitoba Summer Games will involve 8 teams per gender from the regions of Winnipeg (2 Teams) North (1 Team), East (1 Team), West (2 Teams) & South (2 Teams).

AGE CATEGORY

The 2024 Manitoba Summer Games Volleyball Competition is open to athletes in the 14U age category who are born in 2010 or later. (please note that the Volleyball Canada 16-month age category used for club volleyball does not apply to the Manitoba Games.)

Regional teams are now accepting registrations for the Identification (ID) camps.

If you would like to attend the ID camp within your region, please register and pay using one of the links found at the bottom of this page. The schedule of the confirmed ID camps are outlined below. Dates and times of other camps will be added to this list when they become available.

A reminder that the Manitoba Summer Games athlete eligibility is 2010 and later (the Volleyball Canada 16-month rule does not apply). Athletes must reside in the region they wish to participate. If you are unsure of which region you reside in, click HERE for an interactive map.

During the ID Camps, athletes will be evaluated, and coaches will then select 12 athletes for the Manitoba Games roster and up to 4 alternates who will train but not attend the Manitoba Games competition. The registration fee of $25 allows you to attend all of the scheduled times for the team in your region.  Should you wish to try out for both teams in the South and West region you will have to register for both separately. The Winnipeg teams will be selected during the same scheduled times, and you only need to register once.

Once the selection process is complete, teams will train within their region 2-3 times per week.
