2019 Western Canada Summer Games – Indoor

The Western Canada Games are a multi-sport competition designed to bi-sect the Canada Summer Games cycle and provides an opportunity for top age-class athletes to test their athletic talent against the best in the west.

The City of Swift Current will host the Western Canada Summer Games in 2019 from August 9th-18th, 2019! Athletes, coaches and managers from Nunavut, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will come together to compete in Beach Volleyball (Aug 9-13) and Volleyball (Indoor) (Aug 13-18).

Interested volleyball (indoor) players must complete the Team Manitoba Athlete Identification Form:

Ages:

  • Boys – born in 2003 and later
  • Girls – born in 2003 and later

Description:

This program will refine current skills and introduce some advanced level tactics and systems to compete at the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games.  Athletes will be selected based on their ability to compete at this level currently and will take into consideration their potential to be involved with the Canada Games program in 2021. It is anticipated that athletes will participate in the Team Manitoba program at any of the Junior, Youth, Select or training team levels prior to joining the Western Canada Summer Games program.

Competition:

2019 Western Canada Summer Games – Swift Current Saskatchewan.  August 14-18, 2019.

Athlete Selection:

June 1-2 in Winnipeg.  Athletes will be notified by Friday June 7th.

Training:

Western Canada Summer Games training will begin the week of July 29 and continue until departure for the event, potentially on August 13th, 2019.

Number of Players:

12 per team

Cost:

TBC – approximately $350-$500.
