Mandatory Eligibility Requirements For ALL Coaches

All Coaches listed on any Provincials & Nationals roster must complete the following mandatory requirements to be eligible to participate.

All Mandatory Eligibility Requirements must be completed by February 28, 2025.

Making Headway in Sport Generic

Designed to help you gain the knowledge and skills required to ensure the safety of your athletes, this multi-sport module will cover:

  • What to do to prevent concussions
  • How to recognize the signs and symptoms of a concussion
  • What to do when you suspect an athlete has a concussion
  • How to ensure athletes return to play safely

Steps on how to complete Making Headway in Sport eLearning:

  1. Log in to The Locker with your NCCP # in The Locker. If you don’t remember your password, use the Forgot password link to reset your password.
  2. Once logged in, click on “eLearning” at the top.
  3. In the left-hand menu, click on “Making Head Way” (90 mins, free)
  4. Scroll down to “Choose your module”.
  5. Click on “Sport (Generic)” module to begin.

Making Ethical Decisions Online Training & Evaluation

Coaches must successfully complete the Make Ethical Decisions (MED) Online Evaluation developed by the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC).

There are 2 ways to complete the MED Online Evaluation:

  1. If a coach has completed the MED training, and it appears on their transcript, they will have unlimited attempts at the MED evaluation, at no cost.
  2. If a coach chooses to proceed directly to the MED evaluation without taking any training.
    • A fee of $85 will apply.
    • The coach will have 2 attempts at passing the evaluation. If after 2 attempts, the coach has not received a passing grade of 75% or better, they will need to sign up for MED training.

Steps on how to complete Making Ethical Decisions Training (online/in-person):

  1. Log in to The Locker with your NCCP # in The Locker. If you don’t remember your password, use the Forgot password linkto reset your password.
  2. Once logged in, click on “Calendar” at the top.
  3. Select appropriate filters, coaches can select “all prov./terr.” to see available options
  4. Click on the event to register

If there are no calendar events and you still wish to complete the Training before the Evaluation, there is a Home Study option for Making Ethical Decisions. To learn more about the Home Study CLICK HERE. A Home Study is self directed learning.

Steps on how to complete Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation WITHOUT taking the training:

  1. Log in to The Locker with your NCCP # in The Locker. If you don’t remember your password, use the Forgot password link to reset your password.
  2. Once logged in, click on “eLearning” at the top.
  3. In the left-hand menu, click on “Make Ethical Decisions (MED) Online Evaluation” (45 mins, $85 or free).
  4. Select the stage of athletes from the right that you work with most often.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and click on the “Begin” or “Pay Now” button to begin.

Foundations of Volleyball

Foundations of Volleyball (1.5 hrs). The e-modules are designed to provide all the essential information a volleyball coach will need prior to the In-Person Workshops.

DO NOT complete the “ELEMENTARY VOLLEYBALL ELEARNING & TEACHER GUIDE” e-module.

Steps on how to complete Foundations of Volleyball:

  1. Create an account on / log into the Volleyball Canada Coaching Centre (include your NCCP # to link to The Locker)
  2. Once logged in, scroll down the “Development Coach” section and click on the “+” to expand it.
  3. Under “Pre-Workshop E-Modules” is the “Foundations of Volleyball” module at the top (1.5 hrs, $89)
  4. Click on the “register” link just to the right of it to pay and begin.

Note: Any completed NCCP Coaching Credentials will automatically be updated to your SportLomo account from The Locker (you must include your NCCP number within your account details).
