Become a Referee – Indoor

Volleyball referees in Canada are governed by policies set forth by Volleyball Canada (VC) through the National Referee Committee which in turn works in close co-operation with Regional Officials’ Chairpersons (ROCs) in each Region of the Association.

Interested in becoming a Referee? The Manitoba Volleyball Officials Association (MVOA) is always looking for new referees to officiate throughout the school, club and senior league seasons. Refereeing is a great way to stay involved in the game and earn extra income at the same time!

Referee Certification – Indoor

There are five levels of indoor volleyball officiating:

  • Level 1 – Local
  • Level 2 – Provincial
  • Level 3 – Regional
  • Level 4 – National
  • Level 5 – International

Levels 1 – 3 are administered by Volleyball Manitoba and the MVOA.  If you are interested in hosting a clinic, or wish to participate in a clinic, please contact Volleyball Manitoba.

The MVOA recommends candidates for Level 2 and higher based on ongoing practical assessment. Levels 4 & 5 are administered by the Volleyball Canada Referees Committee.
