The VC Beach National Championships took place the following weekend on August 18th, 19th and 20th.  The Youth event was held in Ottawa while the Senior event was held in North Bay.  Manitoba had 3 teams attend the Youth event and 1 team attend the Senior event.

Manitoba’s Taylor Pischke also finished with a Silver Medal in the Senior Women’s division.

The agenda for the evening will include a review of the past year and a report on upcoming plans and initiatives, prior to the formal business of the Annual General Meeting. Following the business of the meeting, attendees are invited to join us in a tour of the new Canada Games Sport for Life Training Centre.

The Annual General Meeting will also require the election of 5 Directors to the board of Volleyball Manitoba. If anyone is interested in letting their name stand for election to the board, please contact us at volleyball.ed@sportmanitoba.ca. The Beach Volleyball competition takes place during week 1 at the Sargent Park Beach Volleyball Centre starting this Sunday, July 30 and runs through Friday August 4. The facility looks fantastic and will be a fun and exciting venue you will definitely want to experience. The Indoor Volleyball event will follow in week 2 beginning on Monday, August 7 with the final medal matches set for Saturday, August 12. The competition takes place at the University of Maitoba Investors Group Athletic Centre (2 courts) and the Canada Games Sport for Life Centre. Hosted at Sargent Park Beach Centre, the Beach Provincial Championships will take place on August 12th and 13th. 

14U, 16U, 18U and Adult/Open Divisions are available for both Males and Females.

14U and Adult/Open Divisions will be played on Saturday, August 12th.
16U and 18U Divisions will be played on Sunday, August 13th.
*18U Athletes will need to be prepared to play on either day, since they may be bumped in to the Adult/Open Division if numbers dictate.

Registration fees are $100/team.

The tournament will consist of the same rules as previous years. Co ed 4’s for the competitive division and co ed 6’s for the recreational division.

This tournament has grown so much in the past 7 years and we are so excited to annouce that we have raised enough money to not only donate to the Savoie scholarship fund, will also be fundaising money for The Canadian Mental Health Association. We will be having a silent auction to help this process.

Each player receives a shirt as a part of their registration.
