Donate to Volleyball Manitoba

Volleyball Manitoba is pleased to partner with the National Sport Trust Fund (NSTF) for our Volleyball Manitoba Scholarship & Support Fund and Volleyball Manitoba Provincial Team Program Fund as two of the NSTF’s approved and eligible projects.

The National Sport Trust Fund (NSTF) is a philanthropic gift-giving program established through the Canadian Council of Provincial and Territorial Sport Federations (CCPTSF) for the development of amateur sport on a national level. The CCPTSF is a Registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association (RCAAA) with the Canada Revenue Agency. As a RCAAA, they are able to issue an official tax receipt for all qualifying donations of $20 or greater. Sport Manitoba is the Fund Manager in Manitoba.

Scholarship & Support Fund

The Volleyball Manitoba Scholarship & Support Fund project will help to reduce post-secondary education costs through scholarships and minimize financial barriers to participating in volleyball within Manitoba through the support fund, allowing volleyball athletes to achieve volleyball excellence.

Volleyball Manitoba’s scholarships are awarded annually to individuals graduating from a Manitoba High School and pursuing post-secondary education and volleyball through a varsity program at a University or College:

    • Nikki Redekop Memorial Scholarship$500 per recipient
    • Stefan Savoie Memorial Scholarship$1,000 per recipient
    • Dale Iwanoczko Memorial Scholarship$1,000 per recipient (2 males & 2 females)

Volleyball Manitoba’s support fund is awarded annually to an individual facing financial barriers to participating in volleyball within Manitoba:

    • Wezer Bridle Memorial Volleyball Support Fund$250 per recipient

Currently, the majority of proceeds that support the scholarships and support fund are raised through their respective annual events.  Donations through this project will ensure that funding is maintained and awarded to deserving recipients annually for years to come. If enough funds exist, Volleyball Manitoba may also consider increasing the scholarship or support fund amount per recipient or awarding and providing additional recipients the opportunity to receive a scholarship or support fund. It is another great opportunity to celebrate and remember the life-long contributions that each individual made to the sport of volleyball in Manitoba.

Provincial Team Program Fund

The Volleyball Manitoba Provincial Team Program Fund project is focused on raising funds for Volleyball Manitoba’s Provincial Teams to assist with the associated Provincial Team program costs.  Proceeds from the project will support up to 100 Provincial Team athletes and 15 Provincial Team coaches in their development and pursuit of volleyball excellence.  This fund will enhance delivery of the program, improve accessibility to participation for athletes and provide the financial support for coaches to successfully upgrade and achieve their required certifications.

Volleyball Manitoba’s goal with the project is to provide young top volleyball athletes the opportunity to achieve volleyball excellence by minimizing the financial obligation to participating in the Provincial Team program. Provincial Team coaches will be given the support for opportunities to pursue professional development and enhance their technical capacities through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).
