2019 Western Canada Summer Games – Beach

The Western Canada Games are a multi-sport competition designed to bi-sect the Canada Summer Games cycle and provides an opportunity for top age-class athletes to test their athletic talent against the best in the west.

The City of Swift Current will host the Western Canada Summer Games in 2019 from August 9th-18th, 2019! Athletes, coaches and managers from Nunavut, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will come together to compete in Beach Volleyball (Aug 9-13) and Volleyball (Indoor) (Aug 13-18).

Interested beach volleyball players must complete the Team Manitoba Athlete Identification Form:

Ages (Beach):

  • Boys/Girls – born in 2001 and later

Description:

This program will refine current skills and introduce some advanced level tactics and systems to compete at the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games.  Athletes may also participate in the Team Manitoba indoor program at the Junior or Youth levels while also training concurrently with the Western Canada Games beach program.

Beach Competition:

2019 Western Canada Summer Games – Swift Current Saskatchewan.  August 9-13, 2019.

Athlete / Team Selection:

Two teams of each gender (4 male, 4 female) are eligible to represent Manitoba at the Western Canada Games. A Selection Tournament will be held on July 5-6 that will qualify the top 2 teams of each gender.

Training:

A training program (optional) in May & June will be offered to interested athletes who wish to prepare for the Selection Tournament in early July. Following the Selection Tournament, we will work with the qualified teams to plan a training & competition program to best prepare the athletes for the Western Canada Summer Games.

Cost:

TBC – approximately $1000 (pending eventual training & competition program plans)
