Volleyball Manitoba and the MVOA are now requiring referees to register online and purchase their Volleyball Manitoba / Volleyball Canada memberships directly.

Referee Screening Requirements

Referees will also need to submit their Screening Requirements through our online registration system.  These requirements include the 2023-2024 Screening Disclosure Form, a Criminal Record Check, a Child Abuse Registry Check, and either Safe Sport Training OR Respect In Sport Training.

The Screening Disclosure Form must be completed on an annual basis.

The purpose of the Screening Disclosure Form is to allow individuals to disclose any relevant infractions that may have been committed during the three (3) year period in which their CRC and CARC are valid.

The Screening Disclosure Form can be found on Sportlomo, under the “Certifications” tab on each individual’s account.

Below are the steps to complete the Screening Disclosure Form:

  1. Login to member profile
  2. Click “Certifications”
  3. Click “Upload Credential”
  4. Select “Screening Policy”
  5. Select “2023-24 Screening Disclosure Form”
  6. The start and expiry dates should automatically populate and then click “save” for the form to open
  7. Fill out the form and click save, to complete the form.

Current Background and Child Abuse Registry Checks are valid for a period of three seasons.

Current Background Checks and Child Abuse Registry Checks must have a date of issue on or after September 1st, 2021 in order to be considered valid for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.

Child Abuse Registry Check (Manitoba Residents Only)

Apply for your Child Abuse Registry Check online HERE. Results can be picked up from the Child Abuse Registry Office in Winnipeg or mailed-out to you (see website for mandatory identification requirements for each).

Referees have the chose to either complete the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders modules Or the Safe Sport Training modules.

Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders

Respect in Sport is a simple and convenient free on-line training course for coaches and sport leaders. It is designed as a tool to assist coaches in identifying and dealing with abuse, neglect, harassment, and bullying in sport.

Your Respect in Sport Certificate must have a date of issue on or after September 1st, 2019 in order to be considered valid for the upcoming 2023-2024 season. Click the button below to begin your certification process.

Safe Sport Training

The Safe Sport Training Module developed by the Coaching Association of Canada will help anyone involved in sport identify and prevent situations of maltreatment.

Steps to complete Safe Sport Training:

  1. Go to the Safe Sport Training page
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Take the Training”
  3. Log-in using your NCCP number and password
  4. Scroll down, click “Sport” and select “Volleyball”
  5. Select the appropriate check boxes, likely “Coach” and click “Continue”
  6. Click “Begin”
