Volleyball Manitoba Beach Program
The 2018 Volleyball Manitoba Beach Program is designed to provide each athlete with a positive learning environment and the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the beach game
The goals of the Volleyball Manitoba Beach Program are to:
- Introduce athletes to beach volleyball who have no or limited previous experience.
- Introduce beach volleyball to indoor volleyball athletes who are looking to transition or improve their skills and fitness over the summer months.
- Work with athletes who have previous experience playing beach volleyball and are looking to improve.
14U-18U and open categories.
For the 2018 Beach Volleyball Season, Volleyball Manitoba is pleased to offer beach athletes the opportunity to train and compete in a variety of events. Through a partnership with AVP and TMP Beach Volleyball, Team Manitoba athletes will be able to train and compete in the events of their choice throughout the summer of 2018. Teams competing in AVP events will earn points in the Midwest region. The dates for other Manitoba events will be added to the competition calendar as they become available.
AVP First – AVPFirst is the official developmental program of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. It is focused on 14U-18U age categories with the intention of helping young players develop a better understanding of beach volleyball. More information: https://avp.com/avp-first/
AVP Next – AVPNext is the official developmental program of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. It serves as the exclusive qualification circuit for elite amateur players to earn AVP qualification points, a national ranking and entry into AVP main draws. Players who participate in AVPNext events have an opportunity to earn professional points and a national ranking from the top domestic tour. More information: http://avpnext.avp.com/
Athletes can plan to attend the events that best suit their schedule. There are no minimum or maximum number of events that are required. Other events will be posted to the schedule as they become available including the Volleyball Manitoba youth beach league. Athletes are encouraged to discuss their goals with Team Manitoba coaches and build the schedule that best suits their needs.

June 23: TMP Open National Qualifier, Minnetonka, MN
July 4: AVP Next Otsego Pro-Am, Elk River, MN
July 7: AVP First Twin Cities Classic, Championship Qualifier, Elk River, MN
July 28-29: AVP Next – AVP First Tournament, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
August 10-12: Volleyball Manitoba Provincial Championships.
August 11-12: ProjectU Super Session and Tournament, Chicago, IL
August 16-19: Volleyball Canada Youth and Senior Nationals
August 30-Septemer 2: AVP Chicago Championships, Chicago, IL

Athletes can expect on court training to begin in May or June and continue until the Volleyball Manitoba Provincial Championships. Tentative training schedules will be evenings in June with day and evening training being available in July and August as well. Athletes competing with Team Manitoba will become affiliate members of the AVP Academy program. http://avp.academy/
Interested athletes should complete the athlete identification form. Athletes will be evaluated and placed in training groups appropriate to their skill level. Some events will require athletes to qualify while others will have open registration.
